Humble Beginnings To Achieving Career Success and Beyond
Jobs shape who we are and how we show up for our families
I always knew I had strong work ethic, influenced by watching my parents work so hard to support us. Yet, it wasn't until later that I fully grasped the profound influence my parents' jobs and life experiences had on our family dynamics and on my own journey.
Job losses and negative experiences have a profound impact on families and communities
At the age of seven, I witnessed the impact of the stock market crash firsthand as my father lost his job on Wall Street, along with his entire sense of self. For years, he grappled with instability, striving to secure steady employment, match his previous income, and adapt his skills to the evolving field of technology. He juggled two jobs, serving as a gas station manager and manning the grill at a fast-food restaurant. Gone were the days of his senior-level position in the bustling NYC stock market, replaced by grueling hours outdoors with little sleep or family time. Meanwhile, my mother took up a role at a pharmacy, stocking shelves, and often brought my brother and I along to bypass childcare costs. Despite their relentless efforts, the weight of financial strain was palpable and permeated every aspect of our lives. The loss of my father’s identity and self-worth would be present for years to come.

Our experiences shape our future careers and identity
Determined not to repeat the struggles of my upbringing, I embarked on a path of relentless ambition. Balancing multiple jobs while pursuing higher education, I immersed myself in the study of people and workplace experiences. Fueled by a burning curiosity, I earned a Master’s Degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology, laying the groundwork for my career in Human Resources.
Business owners and leaders need guidance given the significant scope of their influence.
After twenty years of leading corporate HR teams, I found myself at a crossroads. I noticed that numerous companies were grappling with what they believed to be a pivotal dilemma: achieving exceptional business results versus fostering positive people experiences. Business owners, who were experts at their craft, discovered that leading people can get complicated as business demand grows.
Witnessing companies prioritize business over their employees and observing the subsequent decline in both their success rates and the profound impact on families and communities, reignited my passion from my childhood. I am motivated to blaze a trail where business success and positive people experiences can exist in harmony.
It was from this vision that True North People Consulting was born.

Born and raised in New Jersey, I've made Andover, MA, my home with my family. With three lively sons and a husband dedicated to sports medicine, our days are filled with all things athletics. We also love spending time at the beach on the coast of Maine.
My passion for community extends beyond my professional life, and I am deeply involved in our community and local businesses. I dedicate my time to serving on the PTO, the Andover Special Education Parents Advisory Council board, and the Andover Soccer Board. My family enjoys spending time at our local brewery, connecting with friends and community.
